This is the second, expanded edition of the major monograph of Alexey Titarenko's photographs The City is a Novel scheduled for the US release in April 2025.
Published by Nailya Alexander Gallery and printed in Italy by EBS, the book features over 150 photographs of the artist’s work in St. Petersburg, Venice, Havana, and New York from 1975 to 2024, including new work not included in the first edition.
The City is a Novel includes Titarenko's autobiographical essay City of Shadows and insightful discussions of Titarenko’s work by French curator and art historian Gabriel Bauret; Brett Abbott, Director of the New Britain Museum of American Art; and Sean Corcoran, Curator of Prints and Photographs at the Museum of the City of New York.
